Is FacturX compliant with the French e-invoicing reform?
Yes. FacturX generates invoices in the Factur-X format at the EN 16931 profile — the hybrid format (human-readable PDF + structured XML) chosen by the French reform. From September 2026, every French business must be able to receive electronic invoices, and issuing will progressively become mandatory: your invoices will already be in the right format.
What exactly is the Factur-X format?
Factur-X is a hybrid invoice: a regular, human-readable PDF that embeds a structured XML file containing all the invoice data (amounts, VAT, parties, line items). The EN 16931 profile is the level of detail required by the European standard and the French reform.
Are invoices really generated automatically?
Yes. You pick the trigger — order paid or order fulfilled — and FacturX generates the invoice with no intervention. Refunds automatically produce a compliant credit note. You can also generate manually, including in bulk.
Can I customize my invoices?
Fully: logo, colors, fonts, product table columns, totals lines, contact details, footer mentions… with a live preview. You can even define a different template per language (French, English).
How do my customers get their invoices?
Three channels: a download button on the thank-you page right after purchase, the same button in their customer account next to “Buy again”, and a link in the order confirmation email. Each channel can be toggled on or off.
I sell through several Shopify stores. Does numbering stay legal?

Do you handle business customers (B2B)?
Yes. A “Business purchase” block on the thank-you page lets your customers enter their company name, SIRET and intra-community VAT number. That information is injected into the PDF and the Factur-X XML.
